PROVENANCE:
Inside cover has CRRS bookplate with the typed name of David Hoeniger. Large bookplate from the House of Abercairny.

Copy Specific Notes: Binding: Dark Brown calf damaged and worn with broken clasps still present. Spine has Holinshed's Chronicles in gold.
CONDITION:
CRRS copy imperfect: Vol. 1 lacks 2 leaves of preliminaries and 2 prelim. leaves and errata to The historie of Scotland. Vol. 2 lacks t.p., prelim. leaf, p. 291-2, p. 303-4, the extra leaf in sig. Eeee headed Names of the Knights made at Leith and the folded plan of the Siege of Edinburgh Castle in sig. Yyyy.
Leaves: Cropped, some affecting text. First two gatherings heavily damaged. Some stains found throughout.

Extensive printed marginalia.
