The second is an armorial bookplate with the motto: in deo fides lux in tenebris (faith in god is light in darkness) and bears the name Thomas Hare. There is also a price, 150, written in graphite on the pastedown. On the recto of the flyleaf there is an inscription that appears to have been written by D. Hoeniger. It reads: “Ex B. M. Library. F. D. Hoeniger from” (illegible. Looks like Renno) “Hazberger R68 150. RuH. Distillierbuch Brauaschweg 2 sections missing. illustrated Contains Ander Theil complete Dritt Theil lacks 169-190 Letzt Theil complete but not Erolu Theil 1-27.” An inscription in a hand other than Hoeniger's on the verso of the flyleaf reads: “lacks ff. 1-27; 169-190.” On π1r there are two stamps. The first reads: “MVSEVM BRITAN NICVM”. The second reads: “BRITISH MUSEUM SALE DUPLICATE 1787”.There is also the call number RS 81.B8 1597 CRRS RARE written on π1r. An inscription on the title page reads: “Doip. Impenfs 2:398”. The number 414 is written in the bottom of the title page.

RELATED:
This appears to be a new edition of a text printed by Egenolffs in 1545 entitled Das new groß Distillier-Buch, wolgegründter künstlicher Distillation. These editions share the same woodcuts.
