<span>TYPE: <br />Roman, Italic (both red and black ink have been used).<br /><br /></span>
<span>ILLUSTRATIONS: <br />Dozens of woodcuts throughout, woodcuts of section header images, decorated woodcut initials.<br /><br />Portraits are woodcuts by Jean LeClerc, except for an engraving of Henri IV, p. 129. --pre-1956 imprints.<br /><br /></span>
<span>DEDICATIONS: <br />To King Louis XIII "A no<span>ꭍ</span>tre bien aymé Louys XIII, Roy de France."<br /><br /></span>
<span><span>PROVENANCE: <br />C</span></span>RRS bookplate affixed to the inner pastedown, and there is a note saying it was donated to the CRRS by Mary Williamson. Additionally, there is a CRRS stamp on the final leaf. On the inner pastedown, someone has written in pencil: S1 1702, complete MB2, La Colle.<br /><br />
<span>CONDITION: </span><br /><span><span>Binding: tight-back binding. </span></span>There is a leather strip on the spine, the glue of which has largely melted, and the spine also features the title of the book printed in gold capital letters. Book is in fairly good condition. <br /><br /><span><span>Paper: </span></span>wove paper with some brown splotches and some smoke damage, some frayed edges and bookworm damage. There are variations in font sizes on the pages. <br /><span><span><br /></span></span>
<span>BINDING: <br />Quarter binding, cloth over board, but binding is not original to 1613. <br /><br />Boards measure 10.5cm x 16.4cm, leaves measure 10cm x 16cm<br /><br /></span>
MARGINALIA: <br />Handwritten marginalia exists in addition to printed marginalia notes.<br /><br />
TABLE OF CONTENTS: <br />There is an appendix of years and names of kings, but no page numbers for entries. This book does not feature a table of contents or an index.<br /><br />
