CONTENT:<br />"Autre recueil, des edicts, ordonnances et arrets de reiglement des Cours des aydes" and "Dernier recueil des baux des fermes generales des aydes" each have special t.p.
<span>TYPE: <br />Roman, Italic (both red and black inks have been used).<br /><br /></span>
<span>ILLUSTRATIONS: <br />Some section header ornamentation, appears to be woodcuts; printer's device on title page; decorated woodcut initials. As well, there are fruit-themed ornaments at the end of each section.<br /><br /></span>
<span>DEDICATIONS: <br />Extract of the privilège du roi included; although there is not a separate dedication section, the title page does mention that this book is dedicated to Nicolas Chevalier, Knight of the Order of the King, Baron of Grissé, Chatelain of Seneché, and also a Councillor to the King.<br /><br /></span>
<span><span>PROVENANCE: <br />C</span></span>RRS bookplate on the inner pastedown as well as a sticker that says “Librairie Sainte-Marie Moissac, Tarnet Garonne, livres anciens et modernes”. Someone has marked "4125" in pencil, also on the inner pastedown. There is a CRRS stamp on the final leaf. <br /><br />Signed by the printer and possibly the author or a bookseller.
TABLE OF CONTENTS: <br />This book does feature an extensive table of contents at the beginning.
CONDITION:<br />Binding: tight-back binding. Leather over boards, ridges on the spine appear to be authentic, gold letters of the title appear on the spine. Book is in overall good condition and intact apart from scratches and some chipping on the covers and spine.<br /><br />Paper: wove paper, mostly good condition, some darkening of pages due to time as well as some grooves in pages.<br /><br /><span>p. 121-124 bound after p. 128; p. 935-936 bound after p. 930.</span>
BINDING: <br />This book shows evidence of being trimmed and rebound, and was likely much larger than its 1623 version. Leather over boards. Gold lettering.<br /><br />Boards measure 15.8 x 22cm, leaves measure 15.2cm x 21.5cm.
<p>MARGINALIA: <br />There is evidence of underlining and handwritten marginalia in pen. There is also a plethora of printed marginalia, and some pages show evidence that the words have been cut off, meaning the book would have been trimmed and rebound at some point. <br /><br /></p>
