DEDICATIONS:
avec approbation et privilege du Roy (in addition to the king's permission, this book is also signed by Cardinal Cybo). The exract of the privilege is placed at the back of the book where there is both indication of permission du Réverend Pere Provincial as well as an indication of having been signed by another cleric (signé Estienne Dechamps)
As well, there is an avertissement (warning) section that was likely added for legal reasons.

PROVENANCE:
CRRS bookplate on inner pastedown as well as a sticker that says “Libraire Saint Marie Moissac”. CONDITION:
Binding: tight-back binding. Leather over boards, likely calfskin, scratches on front and back, ridges on the spine which appear authentic, and there is gold lettering for the title.
Paper: very good condition, wove paper has just a few brown splotches in some places, and there are only a few pages with grooves in them; the impression of ink from the excract of privilege of the king's permission has bled through onto the next blank recto leaf. There is some evidence of little nicks of paint on leaves toward the back of the book. The edges of the pages have been marbled by the printer.
