1598 Opuscoli Morali

This codex has leather bound, cream-coloured white covers. Hair follicles are visible on front cover on top left corner. Book has headbands with visible thread alternating blue and white. On the bottom pages there is a reddish-brown bottom-edged title “Opvscoli di Plutarco P.P.” On the spine 1/3 from the top measuring is the label with the title measuring 42 mm width x 32 mm height. The label is reddish brown with golden ornaments on the edges and sympathetic binding; not part of the original. Title on the spine label is written in golden letters “PLUTARCO | OPUSCOLI | TOM . I.”

The part of Plutarch's writing that is philosophical in nature comprises of 78 works united by editors under the heading Moralia. They are works of practical advice with philosophical considerations. They vary from "How to Profit from your Enemies" to "Moral Virtue" to "On Reading the Poets."¹
